SDGs’ National Node in the Netherlands

In a recent development at ICCROM’s Our Collections Matter (OCM), The Netherlands, Greece, The Philippines, Brazil, and the UAE have been selected as pilot partners to become the national 'SDG Nodes'. These nodes will function as the national central points of reference for collection owners (museums, libraries, archives, botanical gardens and others) in these countries to mobilise efforts regarding the sustainable development of heritage collections and to contribute to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals as formulated by the United Nations.

We are honoured that The Centre for Global Heritage and Development has been appointed as the Dutch National focal point to represent this initiative. Therefore, we will start by mapping all active Dutch initiatives that work on including SDGs in their projects. Collection owners will be approached to share their activities, plans, methods, and best practices to achieve their targeted SDGs by 2030. Based on the mapping outcomes, a national narrative will be created, initiatives will be clustered, and a strategic master plan will be developed to be realised between now and 2030 and possibly post-2030.

If you are part of a collection-based institute, or your organisation is active in this field, and wish to share your SDGs initiatives nationally and beyond to benefit from all available resources at ICCROM and to join our global network, please get in touch with our office.
