My name is Suzanne van Beek! For several years I have been connected to the Faculty of Archaeology in Leiden through my studies. Currently, I am finalizing my master thesis on archaeological glass. Last year, to broaden my view, I followed the master Applied Museum and Heritage Studies at the Reinwardt Academy in Amsterdam. During this masters program, I focused on heritage and visitor experiences in cultural institutions.
During my studies, I completed several internships, varying from museum to excavation internships. During these internships I noticed that I enjoy being a part of an organization that seeks to tell the story of historical events and collections to a broad public through narratives.
Of course, life does not only exist of studying. Next to my research, I like to discover new museums and exhibitions, to travel, to enjoy movies and books, to cook something new or nice and to bike around on my race bike.
Next period I will be working at the Centre for Global Heritage and Development contributing to their project for the Leiden City of Science 2022. I am looking forward to this project and using my knowledge to make something great!
