Survey Perspectives on Interdisciplinarity in Engineering Education

Survey Perspectives on Interdisciplinarity in Engineering Education

Dear colleagues,

Within our LDE community, we try to establish interdisciplinary cooperation. I am running a survey (based on Q sorting) on ideas on interdisciplinarity. The survey is open until September 30 2025.

The background of the study is that whereas working with multiple disciplines on challenges has become more important in the academic community, it is likely that different interpretations of (the relations between) inter-, multi- and mono-disciplinary skills and knowledge can be encountered within academia. To study this aspect, we invite many different individuals and groups to complete an online survey on the topic.

This survey is a Q-sort in which you are asked to organize a set of 37 statements and answer some questions. Further instructions are found on the website itself. The survey will take you approximately 30 - 50 minutes to complete and can be found online at https://interdisc-ceg.netlify.app/. We will keep the survey open until September 30 2025. Obviously we do invite you to complete the survey earlier!

The results will allow us to explore ideas on the topic and facilitate further discussions on implications for research and education on its topics. For questions on the specific survey or Q-sorting in general, feel very invited to approach Valeria and/or Maurits! Feel also very invited to share the survey with others.
