The Centre for Historical Culture at Erasmus University Rotterdam and the Centre for Global Heritage and Development  organize the research seminar 'Heritage: Agency and Appropriation'.

The aim of this seminar is to reflect on theories and research about heritage related to agency and appropriation.  Important inspiration is ANT (Actor Network Theory).

Prof. dr. Hester Dibbits (Centre Historical Culture, EUR, Reinwardt Academy) and prof. dr. Pieter ter Keurs (RMO, Antropology Leiden and Centre for Global Heritage and Development) will present papers.

Pieter ter Keurs: "Heritage and the Quest for Order: An Exploration into Constructionist Effects of Heritage".

Hester Dibbits and Norah Karrouche: "Ticking the box? Material cultures of migration in the private and (semi)public domain".

Scholars who are interested in heritage, theory of history, history education and (popular) historical culture are welcome to attend this seminar. Please, mail dr. Robbert-Jan Adriaansen (adriaansen@eshcc.eur.nl) if you are interested to come.
